Students begin with teacher-led lessons that introduce the building blocks of a community and economy. Along the way, they explore:
- Careers, job applications, and workplace responsibilities
- Earning a paycheck and managing a bank account
- Spending, saving, using a debit card, and making thoughtful financial decisions
- Business costs, pricing, advertising, teamwork, and ethics
- Taxes, philanthropy, citizenship, free enterprise, and how communities work
Then students bring it all to life inside JA BizTown, a fully interactive simulated town where they become employees, consumers, business leaders, and citizens for the day. They work in teams, serve customers, manage responsibilities, and experience how businesses and communities depend on one another.
For educators, JA BizTown reinforces classroom learning through hands-on application. For volunteers, it creates a meaningful way to coach and encourage students. For sponsors, it connects your business to an unforgettable experience that helps young people understand the world of work.
JA BizTown helps students see that what they learn in school matters — and that they have an important role to play in the future.
